Founded in 1980 by Mary Nell Weatherred, Kittens, Inc. focuses on adopting out cats and kittens that come into our care, as well as assisting senior citizens in caring for and feeding their cats.

Since losing our shelter building in the late 1980s, we have cared for these little ones in our homes and foster homes. We currently assist several senior citizens in feeding and providing veterinary care for their cats when they no longer have the financial resources to do so. We currently have over 60 cats in our care.

Kittens, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives no government funding. All of our income is derived from donations from individuals and businesses, adoption fees and fundraisers.

Mary Nell Weatherred founded Kittens, Inc. in 1980. She devoted the last 26 years of her life to overseeing the adoption and care of many hundreds of cats and kittens. Though she passed away December 21, 2001, she will always live in our hearts and memories. This site and the work we continue to do is dedicated to her.

Kittens, Inc.'s mission is to provide a caring home for homeless, unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens, and to assist senior citizens in the care and feeding of their pets. We provide the best veterinary care possible for all the cats and kittens in our care. One of our goals is to provide public education about responsible pet care and the importance of spaying and neutering all pets. Another is to provide adoption, counseling and humane education to enrich the lives of people and cats. Additional efforts are directed at finding caring, responsible homes for cats and kittens adopted from us, with owners who will make a lifetime commitment to their newest furry little friend.
